It had to happen.  Finally, the FDA spokesperson managed to crawl out from under a rock and proclaim that a "common type of antidepressant given during the second half of a pregnancy are about six times more likely to give birth to a baby with a rare but potentially fatal heart and lung condition."
So, a public health advisory  based on the "worrisome" finding is being given.
Well, I found this in USA TODAY, Thursday February 9, 2006.  It turns out that Serotonin-reuptake inhibitors or SSRI drugs have a possible link between their usage and this six-times greater condition.  The study appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine.  THIS STUDY WAS DONE STARTING IN 1996, AND RESULTED IN TWO CASES OUT OF 73 BABIES TO WOMEN WHO TOOK PROZAC, WHICH AT THAT TIME WAS THE ONLY SSRI ON THE MARKET.  A NEW CURRENT STUDY INCLUDES ZOLOFT, PAXIL, OR CELEXA FOR AT LEAST HALFWAY THROUGH THE PREGNANCY INDICATED THAT 14 BABIES WITH THIS PERSISTENT PULMONARY HYPERTENSION OF THE NEWBORN (PPHN) .
The California Teratogen Information Service says not to panic, simply discuss the information with your obstetrician and your mental health provider.
My opinion:  Is it any wonder that the Drug Companies (Big Pharma) are desperately trying to limit liability (tort) through Tort Reform and already have exonerated themselves from any vaccine-caused damage IF that vaccine was used as per a Government-mandated program of vaccination...  Please examine the "Great Swine Flu" epidemic of about 25 years ago.  Yeah, right:  They thought most of us forgot about that.
Well, we didn't.  Those who forget history are bound to repeat the event, only this time, worse already yet.
